Apps have managed to revolutionize our world. Who would have imagined that we would find the man of our dreams on an app that we could finally hide behind an app, and reach out to someone special. How we can now read our news we want on an app, and receive views on that news in real time! There is something out there for our emotional health, our mental health, but when it comes to our physical health, there simply has not been enough. Yes a few apps with BMI and diet tips, but nothing that has managed to take us by storm and say I must have this. When I heard about Oyehelp personalized Doctors apps I was floored. It was a real time doctor on demand app. Just yesterday I got my blood reports, and some of the tests were out, which was to be expected. While I can get a diagnostic centre guy to visit me at home, take my blood reports and give me the results online, I cant say the same for a doctor. Home visits are a thing of a bygone era, even though we still need them badly. Some how I never end up visiting the doctor, unless I am threatened by my children. I simply get the tests done, and I am then self diagnosing. Reducing my thyroid medication, cutting back on my sugar and cholesterol. How about if I could just speak to my doctor over the phone, pay him for his time, and get the right advice. After all it is a five minute job. My best friend who is a pediatrician gets calls all day long from patients, wanting to know what to do next. Sometimes when she is busy, she just tells them to visit her clinic, otherwise she will never get anything else in her life done.
When she told me that she now has her clinic on an app, I was curious.
First I thought she was on the endless listing sites for doctors, but she said no. She had her very own app on the Google Play Store. The Dr. Anju Puri app. But you don’t know anything about technology, how did you get it developed, I asked her. Apparently she didn’t! It is a ready made app that she ordered on Oyehelp.com for doctors in India. It lets her patients make appointments with her, make payments and then talk to her on the go, apparently no internet is required to talk either. Looks like there may be a solution to Doctors home visits after all.
